Meet Susie Wetzel
Susie Wetzel, longtime resident of Clinton, Mo., spends most of her time volunteering in the community and enjoying her six grandchildren. She has been married to Gus Wetzel, a practicing surgeon and a member of the UCM Board of Governors, for more than 42 years.
She graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in history and English and taught middle school in Clinton before staying home to raise her four children: Courtney, Allison, Jack and Sissy. Susie is a member of the PEO Sisterhood and the Clinton United Methodist Church, where she has served on many boards and taught Sunday School.
She has served on the Clinton Board of Education as treasurer and has always had a strong interest in public education. For 30 years, Susie has served on the Christmas Cheer Committee, which helps the less fortunate in Henry County at Christmas serving more than 800 families this past year.
