Meet Richard Phillips
Richard Phillips of Lake Tapawingo, Mo., is a retired educator and independent consultant. He holds three degrees from UCM: a BS in physical education and social studies in 1965, an MS in education in 1967 and an EdS in public school administration in 1972. His career spans 47 years in public education, including 14 years as a superintendent and assistant superintendent of schools and 15 years with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
He served on the UCM Alumni Association Board of Directors from 2002-2004 and was president in 2004. He served on the UCM Board of Governors from 2005-2010, earning emeritus status in 2011. In 2013, he was named a "Friend of Education" by the Missouri Association of School Administrators and was inducted for distinguished service into the UCM Athletic Hall of Fame.
