Where Your Gifts Go
Gifts touch every aspect of the university. They help recruit students through scholarships, fund research projects and retool equipment. When you make a gift, you have the ability to put it to work in areas that matter most to you.
You can designate your gift to benefit your college or department where you studied. It can help fund a particular scholarship, program or office, just to name a few. You determine how your money will be used.
Many donors prefer not to specify how to use their gift and trust the university will apply it to the area of greatest need. These unrestricted gifts officially become part of the Fund for Excellence.
Designations previously or frequently indicated by donors include:
- Fund for Excellence
- Kirkpatrick Library
- General scholarships
- Intercollegiate Athletics (or a specific team)
- International Programs
- KMOS-TV
- KTBG The Bridge
- Lab equipment funds
- Performing Art Series
- Specific UCM college
- Specific UCM department
- Specific fraternity or sorority
- Specific group (such as University Women)
- Specific named scholarship
