School of Accountancy and Computer Information Systems

Students may apply for multiple scholarships. Most applications for the 2014-2015 academic year must be completed and submitted by March 1, 2014.  Be sure to check below for scholarships that have an application deadline other than March 1.

Name of Scholarship To apply, a student must:
School of Accountancy Scholarship
  • be a full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing
  • be pursuing a degree in accounting
Bennie Bargen Scholarship in Accounting
  • be full time undergraduate student or full time graduate student (with at least 12 hours remaining) in good academic standing and;

  • be pursuing a degree in accounting;

  • hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0;
  • be of good moral character;
  • Preference will be given to students who meet all three criteria; however, selection committee may nominate candidate who meets two (2) requirements if no candidate meets all three.
BKD LLP Accounting Education Scholarship
  • be an undergraduate student that has completed his/her junior year by May and be pursuing a degree in accounting OR be a graduate student pursuing a MBA with an accounting concentration or MA
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.25 or a minimum of 3.5 in the most recent 30 hours completed
  • demonstrate leadership and service to campus organizations
Stanley and Eugenia R. Crain Scholarship in Accounting
  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing
  • have graduated from a high school located in Howard County, MO, or Cooper County, MO (however, if no students from Howard County, MO or Cooper County, MO apply or are deemed eligible, consideration shall be given to other students meeting criteria)
  • be pursuing a degree in accounting
  • be worthy, deserving and show promise of leadership and academic ability in accounting
  • demonstrate financial need
Charles '80 and Diane '81 Dudley Scholarship in Accounting
  • be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in accounting
  • demonstrate financial need
  • be a resident of Lafayette County, MO (preference)
Alexander Gladkov Memorial Scholarship
  • be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in accounting and/or computer information systems at UCM
  • demonstrate financial need
  • be a "good" hardworking student
Arthur Norton Accounting Scholarship
  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in accounting
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of accounting
  • have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in major
  • demonstrate financial need
R. Wayne Payne Scholarship
  • be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in accounting
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of accounting
Carol and James Pendleton Scholarship in Accounting
  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in accounting
  • have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at UCM prior to application
  • be admitted to the BSBA program in accounting at UCM
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.25
  • demonstrate good character, leadership and service

Elbert H. and Eula L. Stanfield Scholarship

 

 

 

 

  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in accounting and have been accepted into the School of Accountancy within the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies
  • be a U.S. citizen and have been a resident of the state of Missouri for at least five (5) previous years
  • be a resident of Johnson County, MO (however, if no Johnson County, MO residents apply or are deemed eligible, secondary preference shall be given to all other Missouri residents, third preference shall be given to all other U.S. citizens
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • be worthy, deserving and show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of accounting
  • preference shall be given to a student who intends to pursue a career in public accounting
  • transfer students from community colleges may be considered as long as he/she meets all other listed criteria
Steward Scholars Program
  • , a student must be an incoming first-time, full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing and;

  • Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; 

  • Be fully admitted as described on the Admissions website  http://www.ucmo.edu/undergrad/fresh/require/;

  • Have a declared major in Computer Information Systems;

  • Preference will be given to graduates of Clinton High School in Henry County, Missouri and or students of diversity; qualified applicants from other Missouri high schools may receive consideration;

    Complete a Steward Scholars Program application, which includes the following:
    • Three (3) references
    • Detailed resume outlining work experience, extracurricular activities, community involvement and honors and awards
    • Personal statement (minimum 500 words) with career goals
    • Agree to participate in either a study-abroad program or an international internship;
    • Final Selection will be determined through an interview process with the Scholars Selection Committee

Boeing AITP Scholarship
  • be a full time undergraduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in computer information systems
  • be junior or senior
  • demonstrate good character, leadership and service
  • have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 in his or her major and a minimum grade point average of 3.25 overall
  • preference shall be given to a member in good standing of the Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP)
Helen Louise Campbell Richards Memorial Scholarship
  • be a full time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in either political science, mathematics or computer information systems
  • be a US citizen
  • have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • demonstrate good character, leadership and service
