Students may apply for multiple scholarships. Most applications for the 2014-2015 academic year must be completed and submitted by March 1, 2014.  Be sure to check below for scholarships that have an application deadline other than March 1.

Name of Scholarship To apply, a student must:
Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry & Physics  
Ardyth C. Boucher Scholarship
  • be a female junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in science with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.25, or, be pursuing a degree in secondary education with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • have graduated from a high school located in third-class county in Missouri (see application for details)

CenturyLink University of Central Missouri Scholarship (for incoming freshmen students)

  • be a graduating high school senior and plan to attend UCM
  • be accepted to UCM
  • reside within the CenturyLink service area
  • plan to pursue a major within the area(s) of education, science/environment, business/economics, marketing and/or math/computer science
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
CenturyLink University of Central Missouri Scholarship
  • be a full-time undergraduate student at UCM or be the spouse of a military person
  • be accepted and enrolled at UCM
  • reside within the CenturyLink service area
  • plan to pursue a major within the area(s) of education, science/environment, business/economics, marketing and/or math/computer science
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
E. R. Foster and Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Foster Scholarship
  • be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in chemistry
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of chemistry
Dr. Eldo and Viola Hendricks Memorial Scholarship
  • be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in teacher education in women's physical education or a degree in chemistry
  • demonstrate good character, leadership and service
  • have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in major
John Hess Health Professions Scholarship
  • be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing
  • be pursuing a graduate degree in a health profession
  • demonstrate leadership ability
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • participate in social/service organizations and/or extracurricular activities
  • have applied to a health professions graduate degree program
  • preference given to students pursuing a health professions graduate degree in the following areas: Medical, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Dental
J. M. Hopping Scholarship
  • be a full-time junior, senior or graduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in chemistry
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • show promise of leadership and service
Donald R. Kelsey Undergraduate Research Award
  • be an undergraduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in chemistry
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • agree to prepare a report related to his/her contributions to the chosen research project (see information page for more details)
Frank E. Martin Scholarship
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in physics (however, if no students pursuing a degree in physics apply or are deemed eligible, second consideration shall be given to a student pursuing a degree in mathematics; third consideration shall be given to students pursuing a degree in history
  • show promise of academic ability
  • demonstrate financial need
Nance Family Scholarship
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in physics, chemistry or mathematics
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of physics, chemistry or mathematics
  • participate in worthwhile campus organizations and activities and have exhibited good citizenship qualities
  • preference shall be given to students planning to enter the teaching profession

Robert L. Wild Family Scholarship

  • be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of physics or mathematics
  • be an athlete representing UCM in NCAA competition
Department of Agriculture  
Ag Partners' Scholarship
  • be pursuing a degree in Agriculture at UCM
  • be admitted to the Agriculture program at UCM
  • have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours
  • have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5
  • be interested in continuing his or her education at UCM
Clarence Pearce Agriculture Scholarship
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in agriculture, with preference to agriculture education
  • be a member in good standing of the junior or senior class
  • demonstrate leadership and service to the University and or Department of Agriculture and or recipients home community or the Warrensburg community
  • have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5
Earle F. Low and Clara L. Low Scholarship in Agriculture
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be majoring in agriculture or a related field within the Department of Agriculture
  • be a junior or senior when scholarship is used
Earle F. Low Scholarship
  • be a full-time student pursuing a degree in the field of Agriculture at University of Central Missouri
  • be of senior class designation at the time he/she receives the award;
  • demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership and service
Master Gardeners of Johnson County, Missouri Scholarship in Horticulture
  • be a full-time undergraduate in good academic standing
  • be pursuing a degree in horticulture or a related area;
  • have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or above;
  • be a resident of Johnson County, Missouri
Missouri Employers Mutual Outstanding Student Scholarship
  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a major in Occupational Safety and Health or Safety Management;
  • have a minimun overall cumulative GPA of 3.0;
  • be a resident of Missouri
  • demonstrate community and campus involvement
Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation Agriculture Scholarship
  • be a full-time undergraduate student at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in agriculture
  • be a member or the student’s family must be a member of the Missouri Farm Bureau (membership must be verified through the President’s Office at the Missouri Farm Bureau);
  • be actively involved in the UCM Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapter;
  • demonstrate leadership and academic ability;
  • demonstrate financial need
William Forrest Stirling Memorial Scholarship
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in agriculture;
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character;
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of agriculture;
  • be (have been) an active participant in either 4-H or Future Farmers of America (if no participants of 4-H or Future Farmers of America apply or are deemed ineligible, other applicants shall be considered);
Theiss Family Scholarship
  • be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in agriculture
  • be a resident of Johnson County, Missouri;
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character;
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of agriculture
Bill and Helen Tunison Ehrich Scholarship in Horticulture
  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in horticulture or a related area;
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above;
  • demonstrate high potential for a successful career in horticulture or a related area;
  • preference shall be given to applicants from the state of Missouri (however, if no qualified applicants from the state of Missouri apply or are deemed eligible, secondary preference shall be given to other applicants meeting the stated criteria).

 

Lawrence and Eva Flanders Scholarship in Agriculture
  • be a full-time undergraduate student at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in agriculture;
  • show promise of leadership, academic and practical ability in agriculture;
  • demonstrate a strong work ethic, ambition and motivation toward a career in agriculture
  • be a graduate of a high school located in DeKalb, Clinton, Caldwell, or Davies counties in Missouri
Edward and Trudy Denham Scholarship
  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a major or minor within the Department of Agriculture;
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Department of Safety Sciences  
Ralph H. Brueske Scholarship
  • be a full-time senior student at UCM the following academic year;
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character;
  • show leadership and academic ability in the field of occupational safety management;
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.75.
Norris J. Freeman Memorial Transportation Scholarship
  • be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at UCM the following academic year;
  • be pursuing a degree in safety science with an emphasis in transportation safety
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
Allan A. Goldberg Scholarship
  • be a full-time senior student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in safety management or industrial hygiene or pursuing a minor in safety, fire science and/or security;
  • demonstrate good character, leadership and service
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.2.
D.W. Tieszen Scholarship
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in safety education or a related field;
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character;
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of safety education.
Herbert Jones Industrial Hygiene Scholarship
  • be a full-time second-year graduate student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in industrial hygiene (on the UCM campus);
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character;
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of industrial hygiene.
  • * Preference shall be given to student(s) demonstrating the greatest financial need.
Dr. Norman Key Safety Scholarship
  • a full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in safety science and: 

  • demonstrate a high record of scholastic achievement (if an undergraduate student, must  have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.5; if a graduate student, must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.75);

  •  demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities and possess high standards of character.

  • Preference will be given to students who meet both criteria; however, selection committee may submit a candidate who meets only one (1) requirement if no candidate meets both criteria.

     

Department of Geography  
Daniels/Ragland Geographic Education Scholarship
  • be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0;
  • be pursuing a degree in education with an emphasis in geography or international studies (emphasis described in Daniels/Ragland Geographic Education Scholarship Evaluation Rubric);
  • achieve a minimum of 81 points (out of 100 points) on the Daniels/Ragland Geographic Education Scholarship Evaluation Rubric (attached).
James M & Marguerite Ellis Geography Scholarship
  • be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in geography;
  • demonstrate financial need.
Hibdon/Vogel Geography Scholarship
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM;
  • be pursuing a degree in geography;
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character;
  • show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of geography;
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in major.
