Department of Theatre and Dance

Students may apply for multiple scholarships. Most applications for the 2014-2015 academic year must be completed and submitted by March 1, 2014.  Be sure to check below for scholarships that have an application deadline other than March 1.

Name of Scholarship To apply, a student must:

Lucy Bergman Memorial Scholarship in Theatre (for incoming freshmen students)

  • be a graduating high school senior and be accepted to UCM
  • be or have been an active participant in theatre
  • demonstrate leadership and service
Lucy Bergman Memorial Scholarship in Theatre
  • be a full-time freshman, sophomore, junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM (transfer students are eligible)
  • be an active participant in the Department of Theatre at UCM
  • demonstrate leadership and service
Nina L. Devenny Distinguished Theatre Artist Award
  • be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a major in theatre
  • demonstrate outstanding scholarship and/or performance in the Department of Theatre
James L. Highlander Theatre Scholarship
  • be a junior or senior student pursuing a degree in theatre education at UCM
  • demonstrate scholarship, leadership and service
  • be actively continuing education at UCM
  • demonstrate active participation in the UCM theatre program
  • maintain a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.75
Charles G. and Laura Keynon Kuhn Distinguished Theatre Scholarship (for incoming freshmen students)
  • be a graduating high school senior and be accepted to UCM
  • plan to pursue a major in theatre
  • plan to be active in the theatre production program at UCM
  • show evidence of theatrical talent (through resume)
  • demonstrate outstanding academic achievement
Charles G. and Laura Keynon Kuhn Distinguished Theatre Scholarship
  • be a current undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a major in theatre
  • be active in the theatrical program at UCM
  • show evidence of theatrical talent (through resume)
  • demonstrate outstanding academic achievement
Loneta Pearce Scholarship for the Promotion of Theatre Arts
  • be a full-time junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • show a demonstrated history of involvement in live theatre productions at UCM
  • show commitment to and promise in the production of live theatre performances at UCM
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
Mancow Muller Theatre Scholarship
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree (major or minor) in theatre
  • be worthy, deserving and show promise of leadership and academic ability in the field of theatre
  • be an active participant in the UCM theatre program
Dr. Robert G. and Sarah W. Schwartz Scholarship in Theatre
  • be a full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a degree in the Department of Theatre
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • demonstrate financial need
Virgil E. See Theater Scholarship
  • be a full-time student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be pursuing a major in theatre
  • be worthy, deserving and of good moral character
  • show promise of leadership and artistic ability in theatre
Janet Ulrich Theatre Scholarship
  • be a full-time sophomore, junior or senior student in good academic standing at UCM
  • be involved with the technical aspects of theatre production
  • have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.75
