Orientation Schedule (Student)

8:30 – 9:00 Get Your Gear!
It’s orientation registration. Receive your enrollment materials and get ready for a great day!

9:00 – 9:15 Welcome to UCM
Meet your Orientation Leaders and learn about the events of the day.

9:20 – 11:05 Guide to Campus Survival
You will meet with your orientation leader to learn about student services available on campus. You will also get your picture taken for your student photo ID card as well as be led on a campus tour!

11:05 – 12:05 Lunch/Mule Mall Showcase (meet back up with your family)
The showcase is a great opportunity to find out more about student services, campus and community resources as well as organizations available to you on campus.

12:05 – 12:20 Choose Red Session
Learn about why our students Choose Red!

12:25-3:00 It’s All Academic
During this important session, you will:

  • Meet with the Department Chair in your academic area of interest to learn about course and degree requirements, involvement opportunities and internships. (Open Options students will meet with representatives of our Gateway Advising and Career Exploration Center)
  • Meet with an academic advisor to discuss academic issues ranging from General Education and major course requirements to four-year plans.
  • Finalize and receive your fall schedule of classes.
  • Activate your UCM email accounts and learn how to utilize the student self-enrollment system.

2:00-3:00 You Made It!
Congratulations. Head over to the Union to fill out your evaluation and receive your UCM t-shirt after completing the enrollment process in your college.  Also, don’t forget to pick-up your student ID at the Union Information Desk or US Bank at the end of your day.

12:25-3:00 It’s All Academic
Each college within the University of Central Missouri will provide general information about the educational programs they offer as well as an opportunity to meet the dean of your academic college.  Students will meet with an academic advisor to discuss academic issues ranging from general education requirements to four year plans. Students will receive their Fall class schedule.

Students will meet with department faculty to go over course requirements for graduation.

1:30-3:00 Parents Reception
Your student’s college will host a family reception for you to attend while your student is in the computer lab making small changes to his or her schedule.  Please keep in mind family members will not be permitted in the computer labs due to the limited amount of space.

At the completion of course registration, your day is complete. If you have additional questions, head over to the University Union and representatives will be there to answer your questions or point you in the right direction.
