Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies
Internships
| “The Center for Business Internships allowed me to create an internship in my hometown so that I could gain practical experience and receive credit hours without having to move to an expensive city during my first summer of college.” Whitney Baragary, student |
College and real world meet at the Harmon College of Business with our extensive internship program. In 2007 alone, 146 students interned with 113 different employers, collectively earning 600 hours of academic credit and almost $600,000 in wages.
The Center for Business Internships (CBI) matches students with companies ranging from Fortune 500s to local businesses, from international corporations to state and federal government posts. Business students have interned with local businesses such as Swisher Mowers and UMB Bank, large corporations like Boeing and Hallmark and government organizations including the Internal Revenue Service and the FBI. CBI also places students in international internships in Mexico, France and The Netherlands. See some of the many places Harmon College students have worked.
The Harmon College of Business is the only college on the UCM campus with its own internship office. CBI works exclusively with business majors and minors, getting them the internships that best fit their long-range career goals while they are earning college credit and a salary.
