Degree Requirements
To apply for admission to the MBA program, a candidate must apply for graduate study at the University of Central Missouri [Graduate School Application]. The candidate should specify "Master of Business Administration" as the desired graduate program.
The MBA degree is completed in one of five concentrations: Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Marketing, or General. The degree requires completion of 33 hours of graduate credit (36 hours for the Information Systems concentration). The hours are completed in the MBA Core (18 hours), concentration courses (9-15 hours depending on the concentration), and MBA electives (3-6 hours depending on the concentration).

The MBA core courses are completed in pairs. That is, CIS 5605 and ECON 5005 must be taken in the same semester, ACCT 5105 and FIN 5805 are taken jointly, and MGT 5305 and MKT 5405 are taken the same semester.

MBA Electives (3 - 6 hrs)
The Accounting, Information Systems and Marketing concentrations require 3 hours of elective credit. The Finance concentration requires 6 hours of elective credit. The General Concentration requires no additional electives. Graduate electives require approval of the concentration program advisor.
Required Undergraduate Preparation (0 - 31 hrs)
Enrollment in MBA core and concentration courses requires fulfillment of sufficient undergraduate preparation in business. This preparation may be obtained via completion of appropriate courses at other universities or through the University of Central Missouri upon admission to the Graduate School. The concentration program advisor is responsible for determining which background courses, if any, the candidate must complete.
In addition to the undergraduate preparation listed below, the MBA (Accounting Concentration) requires 15 semester hours of undergraduate credit beyond Principles of Financial Accounting, including at least one course in auditing. At least 6 of the additional hours in accounting must be earned at the upper division (junior/senior) level.
In addition to the undergraduate preparation listed below, the MBA (Information Systems Concentration) requires 15 semester hours of undergraduate credit in information systems, including at least one course in the following areas: COBOL, Visual Basic or Java, Networking, Database Management, Analysis and Design, and Client Server.
