Employee Assistance Program FAQs

What does an Employee Assistance Program do?  We provide counseling services to employees of UCM.

How much does this cost?  It's free. UCM covers the costs for your sessions with an EAP counselor.

Who will know I have used this program?  This program is confidential. No one will know you have used the service unless you have given permission to discuss it or told them yourself.

For what kinds of issues can I use this benefit?  You may talk to a counselor about any issue that is affecting you, no matter how great or how small. Some of the more common issues with which we work are:

  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Relationship issues
  • Parenting
  • Substance use
  • Grief and loss

Who is covered by this service?  All employees of UCM and their immediate family members are covered.

Are your counselors professionals?  All EAP counselors have a minimum of a Masters degree and are licensed in the state in which they practice.

What if I have a legal concern?  You will be referred to an attorney who can assist you.

Can you help with financial issues?  Yes, we have professional financial advisors available.

What if I'm in crisis?  Our phones are answered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is always a licensed clinician available to talk with someone who is in crisis.
