Program
Our Summer Language and Culture Immersion Camp (LCIC) offers a total immersion experience, which is the best way to develop English skills. It will provide the chance to learn about American culture, and participants will meet people from around the world who want to meet others with the same interests. This camp will provide a unique opportunity to improve language abilities while making friends that will last a lifetime. It's a chance you can't afford to miss.
The Intensive English Program at UCM will run our unique summer camp program. We have designed the camp to help students immerse themselves in English through interactive courses, chaperoned dormitory-style living, daily intercultural activities, and weekly trips.

English Instruction Students typically attend camp classes and activities from 9:00 – 5:00 each day, Monday through Friday. They are in class three hours each morning, four days per week. In class, students develop speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading, writing, and grammar skills. Additionally, a variety of camp activities complement the language instruction and enhance their cultural experiences. |
Students also have daily intercultural experience classes. These classes focus on conversation skills and help develop the spirit of the camp. This is a great opportunity for them to work on skills and learn about America in a fun, informal setting.

Activities and Trips LCIC has daily activities for students as well as weekly trips to cities and towns around Missouri. Students can practice their skills in a setting outside the classroom. Some of the activities include group outings and field trips, swimming, recreational sports, bowling, theater, shopping trips, a trip to an amusement park, camping, canoeing, group dinners, an overnight trip to Branson, and get-togethers with American families. All transportation is provided by the camp, including airport pick-ups and drop-offs. Housing International campers stay in dormitories on the UCM campus with roommates. Chaperones will be provided by the LCIC. At the end of each day, participants in the camp return to the dormitories for more group activities. They truly experience American culture 24 hours a day. |
The camp provides all meals, either in the university dining halls or by arrangement on group outings and the overnight trip.
Books and Materials
Books, t-shirts or caps, camp certificates and other materials are included.
Costs
The total cost for the LCIC is $2,800. This includes airport pickup service, housing and meals, trips, activities, books and materials, insurance and tuition.
