Emergency Services Management Area

Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

  1. Advocate for a cultural change in the emergency services and implement a safety and health program in an emergency service organization.
  2. Assess the interrelationships between budgeting, operational plans, and strategic plans.
  3. Evaluate the relationship between the emergency services organization and the community it serves.
  4. Analyze societal influences on public sector personnel management and evaluate an emergency services organization’s human resource values..
  5. Formulate recommendations and solutions to personnel management issues.
  6. Compare and contrast training and education, and technical skills training versus organizational training.
