Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Hospitality Management

Hospitality is an art that centers on one’s ability to respond quickly to people, situations, and cultures. This program develops a comprehensive understanding of financial management, while maintaining strong interpersonal skills and proven work experience. The B.S.B.A. in Hospitality Management targets the student looking for more than an entry-level or entry supervisor position upon graduation. It targets the student who is more prepared to quickly move vertically within an organization. This program supports the student who may envision continued education with an MBA and opens up multiple career tracks and potential for specialization beyond hospitality. As a B.S.B.A. in Hospitality major, you will have the opportunity to:

Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Administration

Passion for people is necessary to be successful within the hotel and restaurant industries. UCM’s Hotel and Restaurant Administration program prepares you for a career in the world's lodging, food service and hospitality industries. Within and beyond the classroom you will gain abilities to manage people, make operational decisions and network through a curriculum that integrates technology, leadership and practical experiences. As a Hotel and Restaurant Administration major, you will be expected to:

  • Gain professional hotel and restaurant management experience through work and internship experiences.
  • Lead in a diverse environment.
  • Integrate critical thinking, problem solving, communicating and investigating skills into operational solutions.
  • Analyze and make decisions based on financial information.
  • Focus on customer service.

UCM students have done internships throughout the United States and some foreign countries. Students gain experience in such diverse areas as convention centers, sports arenas, travel companies, international hotel management companies, food and beverage management, wineries, events and meeting planning, car rental management, country clubs and casino management.

The University of Central Missouri's MBA in Ethical Strategic Leadership brings a new and valuable master's program to the Kansas City area. Designed for working professionals, this 33-credit hour MBA offers unique coursework taught two nights per week at the UCM Summit Center in Lee's Summit.
