Dr. Vida Olivares received her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Mercer University in 2012. She taught at several high schools in Georgia for the past ten years. Vida earned her Masters of Education in Mathematics Education at Georgia State University in 2006. She graduated from Wesleyan College in 2002 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. Her research interests include the attitudes students form about mathematics, the persistence of first-generation college students in STEM fields, and the mathematics self-efficacy beliefs of adults.
