Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Central Missouri is accepting applications for a tenure-track position in Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. The appointment will begin August, 2014. 

The Position:  Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science and developing new courses depending upon the expertise of the applicant and departmental needs, conducting research which leads toward peer-reviewed publications and/or externally funded grants, and program assessment. Faculty are expected to assist with departmental and university committee work and service activities, and advising majors.

Qualifications:  Ph.D. in Computer Science is required. ABD will be considered. A doctorate must be completed before the actual appointment. All areas in computer science will be considered with preference given to candidates with expertise in computer security, software engineering or big data analytics. The ability to teach and develop undergraduate computer game development class is highly desired. A strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and continued professional growth is essential.

Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Computer Science

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) invites applications for several non-tenure track assistant professor positions in Computer Science to begin in January 2014. This position might be renewable on a year to year basis pending upon performance, enrollment and budget.

Applicants must have Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a closely related area. Previous college/university teaching experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate should be able to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate computer science courses. The faculty will be expected to teach 9-12 credit hours per semester at UCM’s Warrensburg campus and/or Central Summit Center in Lee’s Summit MO.
