Meeting & Conference Services
Event Types
There are three basic event categories used to describe events held at UCM. Student organization events are in one of two categories.
1. Free University Events
These events include registered student organization meetings and free student organization events. Organizations are not charged for the space rental or for support services related to the general event planning and scheduling.
Fees will be assessed to these events for the following items: food service; overtime for special staffing or sound technicians; non-standard equipment, such as complex audio visual needs; the portable stage; T-stage extension; risers and costs associated with vandalism or damage to university property.
2. University Events with an Entry Fee
Recognized student organizations or UCM departments that charge admission, collect money or donations in any form, or sell items at the event, will be charged a space fee at a discounted rate. Additional charges will be applied to event cost for services mentioned in the previous paragraph. A 50-percent deposit must be submitted with the signed contract in order to secure the reservation.
3. Off-Campus Clients
All off-campus clients will be charged for space rental, support services and all other applicable charges. Multiple-day events will accumulate more charges due to the labor and complexity of some events. This fee will be used to help offset costs for other campus events throughout the year.
Fundraisers in the Elliott Union
Please note that each student organization is allowed one free fundraiser in the Elliott Union per semester. This includes one room rental and a basic A/V package.
