The Symphonic Band is a spring semester concert band formerly titled "the University Collegiate Band." This ensemble rehearses three 50-minute periods per week and normally performs in two on-campus concerts. In the fall semester, marching band students not in the UCM Wind Ensemble can transition into Symphonic Band once the football season concludes, to prepare for the Winter Bands Concert in December. In general, no audition is required to qualify for the Symphonic Band. Auditions are typically for chair placement only. Percussionists should consult the audition information page for specific details regarding Symphonic Band.
