Getting to UCM

The University of Central Missouri is located in Warrensburg, which is 50 miles southeast of Kansas City at the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and Missouri Highway 13. Warrensburg is about 45 minutes from downtown Kansas City and 90 minutes from Kansas City International Airport.

Please note: Concerts will be held in Hart Recital Hall, located within the Utt Music Building, and Hendricks Hall, located in the Administration Building adjoining Utt. All papers will be given in the Utt Music Building.

Directions to campus

All attendees are strongly advised to include a rental car in their travel plans. Taxi service between the airport and UCM is available, but averages $75 each way. Old Drum Transportation (800-276-6287) provides public bus transportation to campus from various locations in Warrensburg. For details check out the Old Drum schedule. General information is available online about the city of Warrensburg.

Parking
While visitor parking is free at UCM, there are far too few spaces available in the two visitor lots to accommodate the festival. Campus parking permits are not required on weekends or after 5PM on weekdays. Registrants for this year's festival will receive a free parking permit for Friday, April 8. If you plan to arrive before 5PM on Friday, please park temporarily in the visitor lot on South Street. Come in and check in at the registration table, where you will receive your free parking permit, then please move your car so that others can park in the visitor lot temporarily.

PLEASE NOTE: HIGHWAY 13 DETOUR INFORMATION
The timing is unfortunate, but the Missouri Department of Transportation is busy rebuilding a bridge on Highway 13, which is the main route south to Warrensburg from I-70. The Missouri Department of Transportation web site offers the following Highway 13 detour route information. Please allow an additional 15 minutes to complete your trip.

Note: this detour requires the following adjustments to the normal directions:

From I-70, take exit 45 (Missouri Highway H) south instead of exit 49 (Highway 13)
Highway H south to Highway U (about 4 miles)
Highway U east to Highway 13 (about 5 miles)
Highway 13 south to Warrensburg

Campus Maps

The Utt Music Building is near the northeast corner of campus. The main entrance to the building faces Hwy 13. After parking in the north visitor lot, attendees should walk back to Hwy 13, then turn south. The Utt Music Building is on your right, roughly one block south of South Street, just before the pedestrian overpass across Hwy 13. Enter the building and come upstairs to the registration desk, lobby, and Hart Recital Hall.
