UCM Brings Home Two CASE Awards

WARRENSBURG, MO (Jan. 25, 2008) – UCM received two communication awards in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s District VI 2008 Awards Competition. The contest featured entries from an eight-state region.
“This competition continues to reflect the excellence of our public relations and marketing efforts,” said Jeff Morris, assistant vice president for university relations. “It is the fourth straight year we’ve fared well against much larger universities, such as Iowa State and the University of Kansas.”
The 2006 UCM Foundation Annual Report received a silver in the category of Excellence in Fundraising Materials Recognition Brochures. It was the only award given in the category. In the Excellence in Advertising, Television Ad category, UCM received a bronze for a commercial produced as part of the university’s “Mules. A Confident Breed” campaign. The promotional spot featured Kristin Anderson, honored in 2006 as NCAA Division II Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Representatives from UCM's Office of University Relations collected the awards during the district’s annual conference Jan. 12-15 in Denver. CASE is a professional organization for alumni relations, communications, marketing and fundraising programs. Its membership includes more than 3,000 colleges, universities and independent elementary and secondary schools in the United States, Canada, Mexico and 42 other countries.
In North America, CASE is organized into eight districts. Central Missouri is part of District VI, encompassing Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
