WARRENSBURG - 10/27/2006 - UCM's Department of Art faculty and emeriti faculty have brought the best of their creative skills to the UCM Art Center Gallery in the annual Faculty Art Show.
Works by 22 Faculty, Emeriti on Display
Twenty-two faculty and emeriti faculty are exhibiting works in a variety of materials, content and approaches to artmaking. The exhibit runs through Nov. 2 in the gallery, located at 217 E. Clark St. in the UCM Art Center.
Students and the Public Can See Mentors in Action
"At universities across the country, it is typical and expected that the art faculty display their talents, usually once year in a large group show," said Michael Crane, art center gallery director. "Students get to see their mentors in action, and the faculty is able to lead by and example and to inspire."
Variety of Media Used
The exhibit feature traditional landscapes, ceramics, large scale charcoal drawings and fiber works. Metal sculptures and trompe l'oeil wooden sculptures are on display, along with computer-based motion graphics and computer assisted images.
