Gallery of Art and Design Offers Pair of Unique Exhibits

WARRENSBURG, MO (Jan. 13, 2009) – The UCM Gallery of Art and Design opens the new year and spring semester with two exciting and unique exhibits.
Multimedia Presentation in Outer Gallery
Artist Zlatko Cosic will present “60 x 60: International Mix,” a digital multimedia exhibit, in the Outer Gallery from Jan. 15 through Feb. 15. A native of Yugoslavia, Cosic began his experimental film career at Belgrade’s Academic Film Center. He earned an Associate of Arts degree in broadcasting and Certificate in Multimedia from St. Louis Community College, and is completing a Bachelor of Arts in Video Production and Interactive Digital Media at Webster University. He currently lives in St. Louis, where he works as a multimedia artist creating films, public projections, video installations and live multimedia performances.
Cosic will perform with Brad Decker in the Outer Gallery at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, with a reception to follow.
Danish Artists Expand Limits of Traditional Art
“2-D or Not 2-D: Danish Artists Flirt with Space” opens Jan. 22 in the Main Gallery, and will run through March 5. The exhibit, curated by Mille Guldebeck and Else Ploug Isaksen and organized by the Bowling Green State University Fine Arts Center, is a collection of serious works by seven highly respected Danish artists. The exhibit expands the limits of traditional Danish art into the realms of fantasy and to the borders of abstraction.
Guldebeck, artist and curator of the exhibit, will present a public lecture at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, in the Main Gallery.

The public is invited to attend both exhibits and the scheduled events, free of charge. The UCM Gallery of Art and Design is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment. Groups are welcome.
