Mules Baseball Claims Third Consecutive MIAA Championship

WARRENSBURG, MO (May 14, 2012) – The fifth-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules baseball team captured their third straight MIAA Tournament title with a 7-1 win over Fort Hays State on Sunday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. It is the 20th MIAA Tournament Championship in school history.
The Mules have received the No. 1 seed and will host the NCAA-II South Central Region Tournament this Thursday, May 17 through Sunday, May 20 at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field in Warrensburg. This is the 15th time that Central Missouri will host a baseball regional in Warrensburg. The Mules will face sixth-seeded St. Edward’s on Thursday at 3 p.m.
Individual session tickets will be $8 for adults and $3 for students/youth. All-session passes will be $25 for adults and $10 for students/youth. Both individual session tickets and all-session passes may be purchased at the Crane Stadium ticket window on game day.

All UCM games can be heard live on 98.5 The BAR and 1450 KOKO as well as on the internet at warrensburgradio.com. In addition, every game of the tournament can be tracked via live stats at www.ucmo.edu/athletics and UCM Athletics is seeking permission from the NCAA to provide a free video webcast of each game, produced by students and faculty from the UCM Department of Communication and Sociology.
First round games for Thursday, May 17 are as follows:
11 a.m. – No. 2 St. Mary’s (Texas) vs. No. 5 Texas A&M-Kingsville
3 p.m. – No. 1 Central Missouri vs. No. 6 St. Edward’s (Texas)
7 p.m. – No. 3 Angelo State (Texas) vs. No. 4 Southern Arkansas
