Theatre Students Present Repertory Series Plays

WARRENSBURG, MO (Dec. 5, 2007) - UCM’s theatre students will exhibit their performance, directing and design skills as the Department of Theatre’s Studio Repertory Series presents three one-act plays Friday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 8 in the Black Box Theatre in Nickerson Hall.
Crazy Eights by David Lindsay Abaire will be directed by Zadi Khalsa with technical direction by Tiana Starke. The cast includes Brett Alexander as Benny, Michelle Moll as Connie, James Rose and Cliff and Kyle Wallen as Mr. Dugan in a comedy based around the classic card game.
A Gaggle of Saints by Neil Labute is directed by Taylor Gozia and features technical direction by Auriel Starr. Jennifer Baron portrays Sue and Jared Walters portrays John, a young Mormon couple giving their own separate accounts of an anniversary weekend spent in New York City that ultimately ends in violence.
Christopher Taylor directs Sticks and Stones by Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan, a drama about a veteran law officer accused of killing a minority youth in Los Angeles and the Hollywood attorney who will defend him. Kelly Jo Blake provides technical direction, with Aaron Westlake as Officer DiPalma and Paul Rundle as Alan Keith. Only mature audiences will be admitted due to heightened language and content.
Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. The Studio Repertory Series performances are produced and performed by students, and are free and open to the public. Tickets and reservations are not required, but arrival 45 minutes prior to curtain time is advised due to limited seating. Children under the age of five will not be admitted.
