Children's Books Workshop Offers Opportunities for Aspiring Authors

WARRENSBURG, MO (July 3, 2008) – Registrations are being accepted for the third annual Children’s Books Workshop, a summer retreat for authors, artists, teachers and others interested in children’s literature, planned for Thursday and Friday, July 24-25, in the James C. Kirkpatrick Library at the University of Central Missouri.
Learn from Professionals
The workshop, From Dream to Page: Children’s Books and the People Who Make Them, allows participants to meet and mingle with professionals from the world of children’s literature, gathering ideas about current trends and issues and learning more about how good children’s books are created and shared.
Published Authors and Illustrators will be Present
Speakers for the workshop include children’s author and illustrator Cheryl Harness and authors Carolyn Mulford, Veda Boyd Jones, Joan Arth and Jamie Thome.
College Credit Available
Cost for the workshop is $150, which includes three meals, refreshments, door prizes, a discount on book purchases and a certificate of completion. For participants wishing to receive college credit, the cost is $414.98 for two hours of undergraduate credit or $511.58 for two hours of graduate credit. This price includes the registration fee.
