WARRENSBURG - 4/12/2006 - Tickets are now available for the UCM Department of Theatre's mainstage production of "The Crucible." Arthur Miller's award-winning drama will be presented April 18-22 in the Highlander Theatre under the direction of John Wilson, associate professor of theatre.
Drama Examines History of Salem Witch Trials
"The Crucible" examines the witch trials and hangings in Salem in 1692. Accusations of witchcraft by some mischievous girls in Puritan dress gradually take possession of Salem. John Proctor, a simple farmer, is the central figure who undergoes a test by fire that ultimately reveals breathtaking heroism displayed with unshakable personal integrity.
Cast and Crew Named
The cast includes Brian Sauer as John Proctor, with Destiny Cervi as Abigail Williams. Jason Eaken will portray the Rev. Samuel Parris, Cory Glenn will perform the role of the Rev. John Hale, and Cody Brown will take on the role of Giles Corey.
Other cast members include Jamie Veltre as Elizabeth Proctor, Michelene Khalid as Tituba, Leslie Case as Sarah Good, Sarah Sorrell as Rebecca Nurse, Peter Macy as Thomas Putnam, Gretel Aschenbrenner as Mrs. Ann Putnam, Rachel Lambert as Betty Parris, Jaclyn Wallace as Mary Warren, Tiana Starke as Mercy Lewis, Taylor Gozia as Francis Nurse, Chris Taylor as Ezekiel Cheever, Nathan Potter as John Willard, Ryan cIntire as Judge Hathorne, Zadi Khalsa as Susanna Wallcott, and B.J. Gailey as Deputy Governor Danforth.
Production staff for "The Crucible" includes Jeff Peltz, assistant professor of theatre, scenic and lighting designer; and Rae Robison, associate professor of theatre, costume designer. Ryan Fortney will serve as box office manager with Brett Alexander as assistant box office manager; Olivia Young is house manager; Jan Glover, instructor of theatre, publicity director; Christa Polnack, show photographer; Richard Rozzo, videographer; and Megan McLain, publicity director.

Tickets for "The Crucible" are available through the theatre box office in the lobby of the Highlander Theatre, 660- 543-8811. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $8 for UCM faculty, staff, administration and senior citizens, and $6 for students. All seats are reserved, and no children under five years of age will be admitted. Payment must be received with reservation; cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, or Discover cards accepted.
