Gallery of Art and Design Presents Annual Faculty Exhibition

WARRENSBURG, MO (Aug. 27, 2013) – The University of Central Missouri Gallery of Art and Design will host the annual Faculty Exhibition, which opens Aug. 27 and runs through Sept. 22 in the Main and Outer galleries.
The opening reception for the exhibit is planned for 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.
The faculty of the UCM Department of Art and Design will present their latest works in this annual exhibit which includes sculpture, painting, drawing, ceramics, video, graphic design, and mixed media pieces.
The Outer Gallery will feature work by recently appointed faculty members Mark Farris and Justin Shaw.
Gallery 115 will feature work by UCM alumna and ceramics sabbatical replacement, Jamie Bates-Slone. Bates-Slone received her MFA in ceramics in 2012 from University of Kansas and her BFA in ceramics in 2008 from University of Central Missouri. In addition to teaching this semester at UCM, Bates-Slone has taught ceramics at Epic Arts, Kansas City, Kan., and was a Lecturer in Art in 2012-13 at Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo.
The exhibition is sponsored by Murdock Banner Financial Services, Warrensburg.
The UCM Gallery of Art and Design, located at 217 E. Clark St., is open to the public, free of charge, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday when school is in session.
