The Goldenberg Duo Coming to UCM Oct. 18

WARRENSBURG, MO (Oct. 14, 2010) – The University of Central Missouri Department of Music will host the world-renowned Goldenberg Duo in concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, in Hart Recital Hall.

Violinist Susan Goldenberg and her brother, pianist William Goldenberg, have performed together for more than 30 year in venues around the world. Susan received a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and a Master of Music degree with a fellowship from Yale University. She has performed with the Kansas City Symphony since 1982. William Goldenberg received a master’s degree from the Juilliard School of Music and a doctorate from Indiana University. He currently is distinguished professor of piano at Northern Illinois University.
They will perform “Hungarian Dance” by Brahms; “Sonata in A minor, D.385” by Schubert; “Nigun-Improvisation from Baal Shem Suite” by Bloch; “Haru no Umi” by Michio; “Yoimachigusa” by Tadasuke; and “Rumanian Folk Dances” by Bartok.
The public is invited to attend the concert, free of charge.
