Exhibit Features Hallmark Collection
Contact: Mike Greife
WARRENSBURG - 1/16/2007-
UCM's Art Center Gallery hosts two exhibits during the month of January that bring the Hallmark corporate collection to campus while showcasing the talents of a UCM Department of Art faculty member.
Corporate Collection Comes to UCM
"Selections from the Collection of Hallmark Cards, Inc." is an exhibit of 20th and 21st century modern and post-modern American prints. According to Michael Crane, gallery director, the exhibit is not a display of greeting card art, but rather a representative selection of art that is displayed in Hallmark's corporate offices.

Sabbatical Exhibition Featured
Also on display in the gallery is a Sabbatical Exhibition by Christina Willey, professor of art. The exhibit features new landscapes created by Willey during her recent sabbatical, which included a residency at I-Park in East Haddam, CT.
Significant Collection of American Artists' Works
"It's always a pleasure to share the creative talents of our own art faculty with the campus and community," Crane said. "And the Hallmark Card Collection is the most significant corporate collection in the region. It will allow us to present very dynamic works by an internationally recognized roster of American artists.
Rare Opportunity for Campus, Community
Crane noted that the Hallmark show represents a rare and special opportunity for the campus and the community.
"First, it gives us a chance to view world-class artwork here in Warrensburg, and, secondly, these works are not usually seen outside their home in Kansas City," he said. "Hallmark does not have a regular touring program, so this situation is unique for UCM and our visitors."
Public Invited to Visit Gallery
The exhibits will be open to the public through Feb. 1, free of charge. The Art Center Galley, located at 217E. Clark, is open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m,, Monday - Friday. For more information, contact Crane at 660-543-4498.
