UCM Signs Exchange Agreement with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics

WARRENSBURG, MO (Aug. 24, 2012) –  The University of Central Missouri will exchange academic and research opportunities with Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Nanchang, China, following the signing of an exchange agreement between the two universities Aug. 22.

Jiangxi University officials Gao Yangsong, vice director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Jiangxi University; and Yin Zhonghai, vice dean of the School of Humanities, joined UCM President Charles Ambrose as he signed the agreement. Also present were Deborah Curtis, UCM provost and chief learning officer; Thomas Smith, chief executive officer of Capital Business Development Associates and Great Bridge Opportunities; and Joy Stevenson, director of the UCM International Center.

The exchange agreement will provide for the exchange of students and faculty between the two universities, fostering joint research opportunities and the exchange of academic materials and publications.

Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics is located in the northeast region of Nanchang province and is comprised of four campuses. The university was founded in 1923 under the dual leadership of the Jiangxi Province and the Ministry of Finance of China. The university has 21 schools, more than 20 research institutes, and delivers 48 undergraduate, 86 postgraduate, 25 doctoral and four postdoctoral programs. Currently there are 39,000 full time students enrolled at these institutions.
