KMOS-TV Brings Annual Kids Day to Warrensburg
Contact: Mike Greife
WARRENSBURG, MO (June 11, 2009) – KMOS-TV, UCM’s public broadcasting station, will host the 9th annual KMOS Kids Day from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Sterling Elementary School, 522 E. Gay St. in Warrensburg.
Kids Day is a free, family-oriented, literacy-based event open to the public. While the program is designed for children ages pre-school through 10 years old, all who attend will enjoy the day. Moms, dads and grandparents will have the opportunity to spend meaningful time with their children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories.
Children will meet Curious George, get a hug from Clifford the Big Red Dog, and visit with Sid the Science Kid, all characters from PBS children’s program that are broadcast on KMOS-TV. Families are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture the memories.
All children attending must be accompanied by an adult.
KMOS-TV’s Kids Day has grown each year, reaching families throughout the 35-county KMOS-TV viewing area. In past years, the event has been held in several locations throughout the KMOS-TV broadcast area. This is the first time Kids Day has been held in Warrensburg.
“Kids Day exemplifies what we are about: kids, families and the enjoyment of life-long learning,” said Donald Peterson, UCM’s director of broadcasting services.
KMOS-TV has partnered with New York Life-Galen Dody, Scholastic, Central Missouri Community Credit Union, Parkers, Insight Eyecare and Western Missouri Medical Center to bring Kids Day to Warrensburg.
