WARRENSBURG, MO (Nov. 20, 2012) – KMOS-TV, the University of Central Missouri’s public broadcasting station, has provided assistance to a local program that brings the joy of Christmas to area children.
Mary Clevenger, left, outreach coordinator for KMOS-TV, and Rosemary Olas, right, UCM’s interim director of broadcasting services, presented more nearly 900 children’s books to, left to right, Johnson County Community Christmas Angel Tree volunteers Xavier Hardin, Jennifer Hardin, Valentina Kelleher and Cassie Williams.
Rosemary Olas, UCM’s interim director of Broadcasting Services, and Mary Clevenger, outreach coordinator for KMOS-TV, recently presented nearly 900 children’s books for children of all ages to volunteers with the Johnson County Community Christmas Angel Tree on behalf of KMOS-TV. The items will be distributed to area children by the program, which serves more than 300 families by providing Christmas gifts for children in the Warrensburg area whose families may be struggling to provide a happy holiday season.
This annual contribution to Community Christmas Angel Tree is just one way KMOS-TV can supplement the quality children’s programming we are privileged provide to children in our viewing area,” Olas said.
This is the 12th year KMOS-TV has made donations to the Community Christmas Angel Tree program as part of the station’s community outreach program.
