WARRENSBURG, MO (June 5, 2008) – KMOS-TV, UCM's public broadcasting station, will host the 8th annual KMOS Kids Day from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Benson Convention Center in Clinton.
Families Invited to Join in the Fun
Kids Day is a free, family-oriented, literacy-based event open to the public. Moms, dads and grandparents will have the opportunity to spend meaningful time with their children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories. Children will meet Super Why and stroll through fairytale village, get a free book and a hug from Clifford the Big Red Dog, visit Sesame Street marketplace, and listen as books come alive with the storyteller’s magic. Families are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture the memories.
Annual Event Continues to Grow
KMOS-TV’s Kids Day has grown each year, reaching families throughout the 35-county KMOS-TV viewing area. Attendance at this year’s event is expected to break all records with an anticipated 1,500 persons in attendance.
“Kids Day exemplifies what we are about: kids, families and the enjoyment of life-long learning,” said Donald Peterson, UCM’s director of broadcasting services.
Community Partners Help Bring Event to Life
KMOS-TV Kids Day provides a free forum for the community of Clinton to reach hundreds of families with information relevant to children in the surrounding area. KMOS-TV has partnered with New York Life, Hawthorne Bank, Schreiber’s, Scholastic, and Beth Horner, a creative storyteller, to bring this exciting event to Clinton. Many local organizations and agencies will also share the day with KMOS-TV.
