University Unity Tour Comes to UCM

WARRENSBURG, MO (Nov. 21, 2007) – UCM hosts Gordon H. Lamb, interim president of the University of Missouri, as he continues the 2007 University Unity tour in Warrensburg Monday, Nov. 26. Lamb is slated to make a joint luncheon presentation with UCM President Aaron Podolefsky in the Elliott Union ballroom.
This is the second consecutive year leaders at both institutions have come together for a formal presentation at UCM.While Lamb is on campus, he and Podolefsky will discuss common missions of Missouri’s public higher education institutions, including teaching, service and accountability. This fall, Missouri’s public higher education leaders are focusing on a collaborative plan to increase graduates in the health care professions to meet state needs.
Community leaders will attend the luncheon with Lamb and Podolefsky, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Lamb’s visit is part of a statewide tour in which he is joining presidents of other four-year institutions on their campuses to discuss how they work together to help meet the state’s goals and needs.
University Unity events that will feature Lamb and his higher education counterparts are also planned at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph; Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville; Truman State University in Kirksville; and on the four University of Missouri campuses, in Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla and St. Louis. The first University Unity event was held this fall in Springfield with Missouri State University.
