Mainstage Production Opens Dec. 5 |

The box office is open and tickets now are available for the UCM Department of Theatre's mainstage production of Spinning Into Butter. The contemporary play by Rebecca Gilman will be performed Dec. 5-9 in the Highlander Theatre. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. for all performances.
Contemporary Drama Examines Race Relationships
Set on the fictional campus of Belmont College, the play challenges preconceptions about race relationships. The audience will be led through a series of surprising discoveries and painful revelations as the characters attempt to deal with a rising tide of indignation on the mostly white, upper-class college campus.
Directors Lead Production
John Wilson, associate professor of theatre, is director of the production, with Greg Owen, assistant professor of theatre, serving as scenic designer, and Jeff Peltz, assistant professor of theatre, as technical director. Erica Sword is costume designer.
Central Cast Members Announced
Central cast members are Candace Orrino as Sarah Daniels; Peter Macy as Ross Collins; Nicole Hall as Dean Catherine Kenney; Ryan Morehead as Dean Burton Strauss; Jermaine Robinson as Mr. Myers; Cory Glenn as Patrick Chibas; and Nathan Potter as Greg Sullivan.
Tickets Available
Tickets for Spinning Into Butter are available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday, by contacting the Department of Theatre box office in the Highlander Theatre lobby, or by calling 660-543-8811. Admission is $10 for the general public, $8 for UCM faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $6 for students. All seats are reserved, and no children under the age of five will be admitted.
