WARRENSBURG, MO (March 27, 2012) – Join the University of Central Missouri Mules baseball team in honoring the men and women who serve their country during Military Appreciation Day Saturday, March 31, at Crane Stadium-Tompkins Field. Special activities will begin shortly before the start of a double-header at 1 p.m. featuring UCM against the Missouri Southern State University Lions.
During this special day, all military personal - active duty, Guard, Reservists, their families and veterans - will be admitted to the games free of charge, when they present their military ID at the ticket window on game day.
Prior to the opening game, the university will honor Whiteman Air Force Base personnel, and Brig. Gen. Scott Vander Hamm, commander of the 509th Bomb Wing, will throw out the first pitch. A special presentation also will be made by UCM President Charles Ambrose in recognition of the outstanding relationship that has developed between UCM and the base under the leadership of Vander Hamm. A special announcement also will be made about a new benefit to military personnel who attend events on the UCM campus.
In case of rain, the game will be rescheduled. Information about all UCM athletic events is available on the Intercollegiate Athletics website at ucmo.edu/athletics.
