Impact of Statewide Initiative Topic of MLK Forum

WARRENSBURG, MO (Jan. 14, 2008) – UCM's 2008 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration continues with the 2008 Issues Forum, planned for noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, in the Elliott Union Atrium.
Missouri Civil Rights Initiative Examined
Titled “The Missouri Civil Rights Initiative,” the forum brings together a panel of UCM educators who will discuss the potential impact of the proposed amendment to the Missouri constitution. The public is invited to the attend the forum.
Panelists Bring Experience to the Table
Panelists are Jesus “Sonny” Castro, associate vice president and chief diversity officer; Arthur D. Kemp, associate professor of psychology; Gersham Nelson, dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; and Betty Roberts, vice president for Administration and Finance. The Rev. Alex Wales, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg, will moderate the panel.
