Father Moses Berry Kicks Off Black History Month at UCM

WARRENSBURG, MO (Jan. 27, 2009) –UCM will kick off its celebration of Black History Month with a presentation, "Honoring Our Shared Heritage," by Father Moses Berry at noon Wednesday, Jan. 28, in the UCM Alumni Chapel. Berry's presentation is sponsored by UCM's Center for Africana Studies and the Warrensburg Ministerial Alliance.
Berry, a priest of the Orthodox Church in America, lives with his family in Ash Grove, MO, a small town in the Ozarks, on the farm built by his grandfather in 1871. Berry also is curator of the Ozarks Afro-American Heritage Museum. He has appeared on “Good Morning America” and on the National Geographic Channel, and a documentary about his work was created by Ozarks Public Television.
