Alumnus James Doyle Joins UCM Music Faculty in Concert

WARRENSBURG, MO (Feb. 28, 2013) – The UCM Department of Music presents a faculty-alumni chamber music program in Hart Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 4.

UCM music alumnus and percussionist James Doyle will join the UCM faculty piano duo of Tian Tian and Mia Hynes and percussion faculty Michael Sekelsky for a program that includes“Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion”by Béla Bartók,“La Valse”by Maurice Ravel, and two movements from “Suite No. 2” by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Doyle returns to the Hart stage from an extensive performing and teaching career in both in classical and rock music.Prior to his current faculty appointment at Adams State University, he performed with the Air Force Band of the Golden West, the Baton Rouge Symphony, the Shreveport Symphony, Blue Lake Festival Orchestra, and many others. He toured with musicians such as Three Dog Night, Lee Greenwood and Dionne Warwick. His performances have appeared on PBS, CNN, NBC, ABC, and CBS as well as numerous NPR broadcasts.
Doyle received a Master of Music degree from Louisiana State University and currently is completing doctoral studies at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
