UCM Unveils Redesigned Web Site
Contact: Mike Greife
WARRENSBURG - 10/30/2007 -UCM unveils its redesigned web site, offering users more convenient access to information about the university in a fresh, contemporary design format.
More Streamlined Access to Key Information
According to Robin Krause, university webmaster in University Relations, the new web site has been designed to provide streamlined access to more than 90 university web pages with just one click from the home page.
Krause also noted that Trent White, web designer and developer in University Relations, has provided a new web page design with a contemporary look and a feel of functionality that makes it user-friendly.
Responding to User Needs
The unveiling of the new site follows extensive research and development by the web staff.
“University Relations has been tracking use of the home page for more than a year, and our new design reflects easier access to the most-visited sites,” Krause said. “We’ll be working with office and departments during the coming year to move their sites into the new design.”
New Technology Results in a New Web Presence
The redesign presents the first new web presence for the university in nearly four years. During that time, improved web technologies have been developed that provide easier access, such as cascading style sheets. Style sheets allow better presentation of the site, regardless of screen resolution, and provide better access for users with disabilities. Content and design now have been separated, making future updates of web pages much easier.
