UCM Symphony Presents Orchestra Pops Concert Sept. 29

WARRENSBURG, MO (Sept. 28, 2009) – The UCM Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of John Rutland, will present the Orchestra Pops Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, in Hart Recital Hall.
Program selections include Music for the Royal Fireworks by G.F. Handel, selections from Hook by JohnWilliams and Calvin Custer, Hungarian Dance No. 3 by Johanes Brahms and Martin Schmeling, Intermezzo Sinfonica by Pietro Mascagni and Marche Salve Op. 31 by Peter Ilitch Tchaikovsky.
Guest conductor Tremon Kizer, a conducting student of Scott Lubaroff, associate professor of music, will lead the orchestra its performance of Intermezzo from the opera Hary Janos by Zoltan Kodaly.
