WARRENBURG, MO (Jan. 20, 2009) - UCM's Performing Arts Series presents the Cashore Marionettes in two performances for audiences of all ages.
Award winning visual artist and puppeteer Joseph Cashore has been designing and performing his remarkable marionettes for more than 30 years. His family program, Simple Gifts, is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, in Hendricks Hall. Created for audiences age 8 and older, the program provides an entertaining vision of human life through everyday situations.
In Life In Motion, the second of the two performances planned for 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, in Hendricks Hall, the adult audience is taken on a journey that celebrates the richness of life through virtuoso manipulation, humor, pathos and poetic insight. Set to beautiful classic music, these one-of-a-kind performances create a compelling and unforgettable theatrical experience.
As part of commitment of the Performing Arts Series to enhance education through the arts, this performance includes a free workshop for high school and UCM students at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, in Hendricks Hall, along with several school matinees for students in grades 2-5.
Tickets for the Cashore Marionettes are available from the Performing Arts Series box office at 660-543-8888.
