Performing Arts Series Presents Stephanie Cadman and Celtic Blaze

WARRENSBURG, MO (March 22, 2012) – The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri presents world-champion stepdancer and fiddler Stephanie Cadman with Celtic Blaze at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 31 in Hendricks Hall in Warrensburg.

Celtic Blaze is a riveting exploration of Canadian heritage through music and dance. The unique performance fuses Cadman’s virtuosi fiddling and step-dancing backed by a world-class trio of talent. A world-champion tap dancer, Cadman has traveled throughout North America and Asia with a variety of reputable groups, including Bowfire and The StepCrew, and has also toured overseas to entertain our troops.
Described as “a tap dance prodigy” by “The Washington Post,” Cadman is accomplished in tap, Celtic stepdancing, ballet and jazz. She has appeared as a dance soloist and fiddler with symphonies all over North America, including the Kennedy Center’s National Symphony Orchestra. She was the top female performer at the World Tap Dance Championships in Germany at age 16 and holds three stepdancing titles at the prestigious Pembroke Championships.
Joining Cadman onstage are Jake Charron and Charles James, a pair of renowned Canadian musicians whose versatility and expertise bring Celtic Blaze to life in an exciting performance for audiences of all ages.

A two-day residency at UCM with Stephanie Cadman and Celtic Blaze is sponsored by the Missouri Arts Council and includes a free music workshop and free dance master class for area students.
