Performing Arts Series Presents “Dodging Bullets” Oct. 20

WARRENSBURG, MO (Oct. 14, 2010) – The University of Central Missouri’s Performing Arts Series presents award-winning actor, playwright, choreographer and mime David Barker in his one-man show "Dodging Bullets." The performance is planned for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, in UCM’s Highlander Theatre as part of Barker’s three-day residency at UCM.
At 12:15 p.m. July 6, 2004, Barker's life was changed forever in a period of 60 seconds, the result of a violent act that tore his family apart. "Dodging Bullets" is the compelling story that unmasks the face of cruelty with surprising humor and visceral truth as Barker brings 10 characters to life in a solo performance.

As part of Barker's campus residency, the Performing Arts Series will present three matinees of his acclaimed mime show to area pre-kindergarten through third grade school children Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 18-19. These performances are sponsored by Friends of the Performing Arts Series.Barker will also provide a free acting workshop for area high school and UCM students at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, in Hendricks Hall.
