WARRENSBURG, MO (Sept. 14, 2011) – Platinum recording artist Pam Tillis will kick off the University of Central Missouri’s Performing Arts Series 2011-12 season with an intimate concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in Hendricks Hall.
Tillis has been a force in country music since her first single hit the charts in the 1990s. With six number one hits, she has sold more than six million records. Some of her top hits include “Maybe It Was Memphis,” “Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life),” and “All the Good Ones Are Gone.” An accomplished songwriter, she has had her compositions performed by such artists as Chaka Khan, Martina McBride, Highway 101, Juice Newton and Conway Twitty.
Tillis, a member of the Grand Ole Opry, was one of the first women in Nashville to produce her own album, and she received the Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year Award in 1994.
