UCM Percussion Ensemble Selected to Perform for MMEA

WARRENSBURG, MO (Aug. 17, 2011) - The UCM Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Michael Sekelsky, has been selected to perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association 74th Annual In-Service Workshop/Conference Jan. 27, 2012, at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Mo.
Selection for this prestigious venue requires submission of an application and an audio CD with three contrasting selections. An out-of-state panel of evaluators screens each CD anonymously, selecting two collegiate small ensembles annually.
The selections submitted for consideration were from the Percussion Ensemble spring concert at UCM (February 28, 2011) and from the ensemble’s performance on the 2011 New Music Festival - April, 2011.
