WARRENSBURG, MO (March 6, 2012) – The Department of Music at the University of Central Missouri continues its Spring Piano Recital Series as Mia Hynes, professor of piano, presents “Duets I: An Evening of Piano with Mia Hynes and Friends.” The concert of piano music is planned for 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, in Hart Recital Hall.

Hines will be joined by three award-winning concert pianists and a violinist in a program that will include the “Sonata in G Major for Violin and Piano” by Johannes Brahms, the Rachmaninoff  “Vocalise,” and a barn-burning rendition of the “Carmen Fantasy,” a virtuosic exploration of the most famous themes from the opera by Bizet.

Hynes' guests on the program are concert artists who have appeared on stages throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Pianists Tian Tian, Jon Hynes, and Rhoda Jeng are alumni of the Eastman School of Music.
