Seating Plan for Scalia Presentation Announced
Contact: Jeff Murphy
WARRENSBURG, MO (Feb. 28, 2008) – Although free tickets for the March 4 presentation by U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia have been distributed, UCM announces procedures to help ensure that seats are not left unfilled if individuals who have tickets cannot attend.
Those who obtained free tickets but cannot attend are urged to return tickets to the Performing Arts Series Box Office in Humphreys 403 so that others may use them. The university asks that everyone who has tickets to the 7:30 p.m. presentation please be seated by 7:20 p.m. Any unfilled seats will be released at 7:20 p.m. to individuals on a first come, first served basis.
Those waiting for such seats will be directed to the lower level of the Administration Building until all seats are filled by ticket holders. The presentation begins promptly at 7:30 p.m., and, for security reasons, no latecomers will be allowed to enter. Those who do not have seats can view the presentation via closed circuit television in the Laura J. Nahm Auditorium in the W.C. Morris Science Building .
To help limit distractions for the audience and the guest speaker in this formal presentation, the university requests no photographs or video during the lecture, with the exception of credentialed media. Media attending the event are asked to limit photos to the first three minutes of Scalia’s remarks. Audio and video recordings for rebroadcast are not permitted.
Individuals who have questions about the event are urged to contact the Performing Arts Series ticket office in Humphreys 403 at 660-543-8607.
