WARRENSBURG - 9/20/2006 - UCM's Shooting Range, located at the Agriculture and Conservation Education Center at Prussing Research Farm, 454 SE Division Road, will host a Grand Opening of the range's new five stand shooting facility from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23.
Public Invited to Participate
During the grand opening, the public may shoot the five stand for the member's fee of $5 per round instead of the public fee of $7 per round. Trap and skeet also may shot for the regular rate of $3.50 per round for members and $4.50 per round for non-members. Color targets will be set out at different times throughout the afternoon, with prizes available for shooters who hit the correct target at the correct time.
Newest Addition to Education Center
The five stand is the most recent addition to the center, which opened in 2005. The center also houses skeet and trap shooting ranges and facilities for conservation and agriculture education, and was constructed with a $300,000 grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Donations Helped Complete Facility
The structure for the five stand was built with donated labor and materials, and the throwers and accompanying software were purchased through private donations, including a donation from the Missouri State Council of Quail Unlimited and a pledge of support from the Warrensburg Old Drum Chapter 545 of Quail Unlimited.
