SBTDC Hosts Small Business Summit at UCM

WARRENSBURG, MO (July 26, 2010) – The Small Business and Technology Development Center at the University of Central Missouri will host the Small Business Summit 2010 Tuesday, July 27, in the Elliott Union ballroom.
Following registration and networking from 5:30 to 6 p.m., a panel discussion of economic development and other small business topics will be presented from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Members of the panel will be Missouri Senator David Pearce, 31st District; Mark Manley, director of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and Development in the Harmon College of Business at UCM; and Marshall Abney of First Central Bank, Warrensburg.
Following the panel discussion, participants will have the opportunity for questions, answers and discussion with legislators and candidates for legislative offices from area districts.
The Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Center is an integral part of the Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and Development in the Harmon College of Business Administration at UCM.
The SBTDC assists small businesses in all stages of development, linking university, federal, state, and private resources to counsel and train owners and managers and assist new and existing small businesses firms in becoming more productive and profitable. The SBTDC functions cooperatively in a partnership with the State of Missouri, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the network of Missouri SBDC’s.
