WARRENSBURG, MO (June 16, 2010) - The Central Missouri Repertory Theatre at the University of Central Missouri launches its 29th annual summer season featuring the musical, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, and a touring children’s show, Everykid.

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change

Written by Joe DiPietro and Jimmy Roberts, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change will be presented June 17-19 and June 24-26 in the Highlander Theatre. A celebration of the mating game, the play takes on the truths and myths behind relationships, including dating and waiting, love and marriage, the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set.

The cast includes Lauren Birdsong, Robert Covington, Adam Henry, Alex McCale, Joseph Reece and Jamie Veltre. Julie Rae Mollenkamp, professor of theatre, will direct, with musical direction by Jacob Sentgeorge, assistant professor of music. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m..

Everykid

The children’s show, directed by John Wilson, professor of theatre, is based of the morality play Everyman. The two main characters, “Everyboy” and “Everygirl,” are taken through a journey that encompasses many of the temptations that plague our youth today. It’s full of interesting value-oriented choices, humor, physical comedy, and features an ending that celebrates the act of offering a helping hand in the journey through life.

  • June 16 in Carrollton at Carrollton Elementary School
  • June 17 in Blue Springs at the Blue Springs Park Community Center
